Also, being a mother (which can happen before or after your 30s) changes the vagina. For example, during pregnancy the color often changes. Your vagina may never be exactly the same as it was before you gave birth, but pelvic floor exercises are very helpful for toning. At age 50, the woman faces one of the biggest changes in her body. Menopause usually arrives during this decade and, with it, all the physical changes that this entails. First, the rule starts to space out until it stops occurring. The vaginal walls thin and are less elastic because the subcutaneous fat continues to decrease.

According to a researcher at the Women’s Sciences Clinic of the Procter & Gamble Company of Ohio for El País, between 40 and 55% of women suffer from atrophy of the vaginal mucosa, that is, it becomes thin and dry reducing lubrication. Some gray may appear on pubic hair, which tends to be less dense.
